Our Beginnings
Founded in 1974 as Triton Steel, the company initially specialized in industrial supplies. In 1977, Ed Scott—bringing extensive experience from the logging and scrap metal industries—officially established Triton Automotive and Industrial.
With Ed’s expertise and forward-thinking leadership, the business relocated to the Industrial Park in 1986, seizing new opportunities. This move provided a larger facility to fuel continuous growth.
1999-2014
Milestones of Growth
Triton Automotive and Industrial has a long-standing reputation as a trusted supplier and community partner. Founded by Ed Scott in 1974, the company grew steadily under his leadership. In 1999, Triton achieved a significant milestone by joining the UAP NAPA Automotive Parts network. This partnership boosted Triton’s market presence, solidifying its role as a reliable source for automotive parts in Squamish and beyond.
The 2000s were a transformative era for the company. In 2006, Roy Ramage, who joined Triton in 1992, became a co-owner alongside Ed and NAPA. Roy brought decades of experience from the logging industry and his service as a local firefighter, retiring from the fire department in 2015. In 2007, Jeanette Levett, a team member since 1994, also joined the ownership group. Her background in finance and hospitality was instrumental in supporting the company’s growth. Together, this team expanded Triton’s capabilities and services.
In 2008, Triton transitioned fully into a NAPA associate store after buying out NAPA’s ownership share. The company continued to thrive, and in 2009, Doug Ross joined the ownership group, bringing expertise in the welding industry that helped Triton enhance its welding, steel, and gas business.

The lead-up to the 2010 Winter Olympics marked another defining chapter for Triton. As a key supplier for road-building efforts leading to Whistler, Triton played an essential role in supporting vital infrastructure projects, making those years among the most successful in its history.
In 2014, after 40 years with the company, Ed retired, leaving Triton in the capable hands of Roy, Jeanette, and Doug. That same year, the company expanded its offerings by acquiring the inventory of Westward Sales, introducing fire extinguisher services and logging apparel. This strategic move reinforced Triton’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the Squamish community.
The trio guided the company until 2023, when it was time to pass the torch to the next generation.
Today, Triton Automotive and Industrial remains a family business under the leadership of Tamara and David, continuing its legacy of trusted service and community support.
